The Research Policy and Investments (RPIn)

The Research Policy and Investments (RPIn) Cluster addresses the Strategic Objective 4 of the FARA Strategy. The Cluster was carved out from the then Knowledge Management & Decision Support (KDS) Cluster. The main objective of the RPIn cluster is to fortify the science-policy interface and amplify its impact on policy formulation, shared vision, and collective action, all underpinned by evidence-based advocacy. Core activities involve policy coordination and cutting-edge policy analysis, resulting in successful advocacy for policy changes and increased investments in agriculture.

The RPIn Cluster coordinates the following projects on behalf of FARA, and in close collaboration with the other Clusters of FARA: The Strengthening agricultural knowledge and the innovation ecosystem for inclusive rural transformation and livelihoods in Eastern Africa (AIRTEA), the Consortium Europe Africa on Research and Innovation for Food Systems Transformation (CEA-FIRST), The EU-AU Partnership launches the Strengthening Evidence-Based Policy Practice for Sustainable Food Systems (StEPPFoS), The Regional Multi-actor Research Network (RMRN), and Enhancing the production and consumption of African indigenous fruits and vegetables (AIFV) to improve diets in Ghana and Mali.

The Cluster has a Cluster Leader and a Project Assistant as the main staff. They are supported by a National Service Personnel. The Cluster makes use of staff of other clusters to implement its activities when necessary.
