A Knowledge Management, Learning and Communications (KMLC) Cluster in FARA is critical in capturing, organizing, and disseminating knowledge and expertise. This helps maximize operations, decision-making, and problem-solving efficiency and effectiveness. The key functions and guiding principles of the Cluster are within the context of Knowledge Management for Agricultural Development (KM4AgD) Practice. The Cluster general assessment is within this context.

    • Content Creation and Capture including Documentation and Data Management
    • Knowledge Repository Management: Knowledge Hub (FARADataInformS serving  as an observatory for African agriculture, Taxonomy Development and Metadata Tagging
    • Information Dissemination & Communications: Communication Channels and Publication Coordination
    • Collaboration and Networking: Communities of Practice (CoPs) through FARA Africa Community portal (Dgroups) and Partnership Building:
    • Capacity Building and Training: Training Programs including the KM4AgD Challenge) and Onboarding and Orientation.
    • Knowledge Harvesting and Synthesis: Lessons Learned and Synthesis Reports.
    • Information Retrieval and Access: Search and Retrieval Tools and Access Control.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation: Performance Metrics and Feedback Mechanisms:
    • Innovation and Technology Adoption: Knowledge Tools Selection and Adoption Support.
    • Policy Development and Governance: KM Policies and Procedures, Compliance and Quality Assurance.
    • Change Management, inclusion and Culture Building: Advocacy and Awareness, Inclusion and Change Management Support.
